Welcome to Road Trip
Hello, welcome, hi, thank you for bringing your fantastically curious mind to this cove of the internet!
I’m Sara Parker, a writer, artist, and person-who’s-still-figuring-it-out. I’ve been writing about the world I live in since I learned to put pencil-to-paper. Wanting to understand the people, places, and things around me never stopped, so each week, I bring you my thoughts on growing up, healing and re-parenting, being a person in their 20s, queerness, building community, being outdoors and more in Road Trip.
This newsletter started as a way to catalogue an actual road trip, when I put my life in a storage unit, packed up my pickup truck with my dog, and drove 20,000 miles around the United States to figure out where I wanted to live. I left social media and wanted to connect with folks while on the road in a snail-mail-kinda-way. Scroll on back through the posts if you’re interested in the trials and tribulations of a person living alone on the road or head to my archive here.
Just like an actual road trip, anything can and will happen here. As Mary Chris of The Healthier Hustle says: “Go for the stillness post and stay for Sara’s other awesome writing— like this deep dive into water and this take on a ham sandwich.”
